# Configure search indexing and social previews

> Set blog and article metadata, use readable category and author URLs, and understand why search indexing is reserved for active custom domains.

Public pages on the free `truhuddle.link` address are marked **noindex, nofollow**. Search indexing and canonical URLs are enabled for an active custom domain in production. Favicon, titles, descriptions and social previews still work on the free address.

Posts prefer their explicit SEO title/description and thumbnail. If they are empty, TruHuddle uses the article title and a body excerpt. Author archives include profile metadata; categories have their own titles and descriptions. Readable article, category and author slugs are used in links and canonical URLs.

Indexing is a search engine’s decision. Connecting a domain does not guarantee ranking or immediate discovery.
